GRESHAM, Ore – Oregon Senate candidate Raymond Love, an active Colonel in the Army Reserves with a distinguished 30-year career, is temporarily pausing his campaign, which includes door-knocking and fundraising efforts, to fulfill his military duties. For the next two weeks, Colonel Love will be deployed to an undisclosed location to work on counter-attacks against America’s adversaries.
Colonel Love has been deeply committed to engaging with voters throughout East County, personally visiting over 1,000 homes this past month alone. He has taken the time to discuss the issues that matter most to the community, demonstrating his dedication to both his campaign and his constituents.
“Serving my country has always been my highest honor,” said Colonel Love. “While I temporarily step away, I remain committed to the values and goals that drive me to run for the Oregon State Senate, to serve my community. I look forward to returning and continuing to engage with the wonderful people of East County.”
Senate Republican Leader Daniel Bonham (R-The Dalles) expressed his support for Colonel Love, stating, “I have full faith in Raymond Love, both at home and abroad. His dedication to our country and his commitment to the people of East County are exemplary. We stand behind him as he fulfills his duties and look forward to his return.”
Campaign staff and volunteers will continue to work diligently in Colonel Love’s absence, ensuring the campaign’s momentum is maintained and that voter outreach efforts remain strong.
